When hearing the word "evolution", what comes to mind? Maybe it’s Darwin and his theory of human evolution? Maybe something else? However, what most folk don’t think of is how evolution can play a big role in human health. In fact, the same evolutionary forces that led to our evolution also drive the very diseases that affect us.
During my presentation, I’ll talk about how we evolutionary biologists use our research to understand and combat key challenges in human health. I’ll also guide you through examples currently under active research, including research in antibiotic resistance and cancer biology.
