Welcome to the second "Small Pints" mini festival for Pint of Science 2026, held in conjunction with Vetenskapsfestivalen Göteborg! Join us at Contrast Public House for saturday and sunday evening for pub science talks and quizzes!

NOTE: The event is completely free and open to walk-in to the public. Registering for a ticket is optional but it helps us gauge interest for the event!

Evaluation of the rhythm- and music-based Ronnie Gardiner Method for people after stroke

Petra Pohl (Researcher & lecturer)

Stroke often results in long-term disability, and effective rehabilitation for chronic stroke is limited. In this talk, I will discuss the rhythm- and music-based Ronnie Gardiner Method in community-dwelling individuals with chronic stroke. Outcomes include balance (primary), gait, upper limb function, cognition, fear of falling, and quality of life.

Biography:
Petra Pohl is a physiotherapist and researcher whose work focuses on rehabilitation and health in older adults, particularly in neurological conditions such as stroke and Parkinson’s disease. Her research examines fall risk and fall prevention, and how targeted exercise and rehabilitation can support safe mobility and independence in everyday life.
